What is a comprehensive plan?
A comprehensive plan is a long-range planning document that guides the city’s future growth and development, its priorities, and its services.
It is a road map that helps us visualize where we want to go as a city and how we get there. Your input in the comprehensive planning process is ESSENTIAL in determining the destination — the vision — for the City of Andover.
Why does this matter?
The comprehensive plan will be the guide for Andover's growth, development, and improvement over the next 10 years. Comprehensive planning is an intentional process that studies what a city is currently like, and most importantly, casts a detailed vision for how residents want their community to look like, feel like, and function in the future. This process is critical to ensure Andover continues to thrive.
